Associate members are individuals of high moral, ethical, and professional competence. They may be from another medical specialty, profession scientific, or paramedical field which is directly related to craniomaxillofacial surgery. There is no citizenship requirement.
Consideration for Associate membership requires sponsorship by two Active or Senior members of ASMS who are familiar with the applicant's contributions to craniomaxillofacial surgery. The sponsors propose the individual to the Membership Committee which sends its own recommendation to the Board of Trustees. If approved by the Board, the individual's name is submitted for vote by the full membership.
Associate members pay an initiation fee as well as annual dues. They are required to attend one Annual Meeting every three years. They may not serve on committees, vote, or hold office in the Society.
