The Plastic Surgery Foundation Grants Program Now Accepting Applications! 2017 Plastic Surgery Foundation Investigator-Initiated Grants Program
Now Open!

The Plastic Surgery Foundation (The PSF) is pleased to announce the launch of The PSF 2017 Grants Cycle! The PSF supports investigators from the beginning of their careers, during residency, and on up to well-established plastic surgeons. In 2016, The PSF awarded 36 Investigator-Initiated projects, and allocated nearly ,000 to support the newest, clinically relevant research in plastic surgery. Proposals for the 2017 PSF grants must be submitted by Thursday, December 1, 2016, for consideration.

Six types of funding opportunities are available:
  • ASE/PSF Combined Research Grants: $15,000
  • Combined Pilot Research Grants: $10,000
  • Pilot Research Grants: $10,000
  • National Endowment for Plastic Surgery Grants: $50,000
  • PSF/MTF Allograft Tissue Research Grants: $50,000
  • Research Fellowship Grants: $50,000
All proposals must be submitted online by December 1, 2016, through proposalCENTRAL, the online grant management system used by The PSF. Funding for awarded projects begins in July 2017. Please email any questions to: research@plasticsurgery.org

Grant applicants for the 2016 cycle requested a total of more than $3.1 million dollars. The PSF Study Section subcommittees of Basic & Translational Research and Clinical Research evaluated 125 grant applications covering the following topics:

The Plastic Surgery Foundation (PSF) and the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons (ASMS) recognize the importance of fostering the development of surgeon scientists and innovative research in maxillofacial surgery. The ASMS/PSF Combined Pilot Research Grant is intended to fund a research project that will advance the scientific knowledge of maxillofacial surgery. This grant supports the preliminary or pilot phase of these research projects.
